“Ideally, I’d like to be the eternal novice, for then only the surprises would be endless.” – Keith Jarrett

“Beyond My Control” video shoot – Berlin, Germany
Over the past 25 years as a professional musician, I’ve become convinced of one thing:
Your growth as an artist and your growth as a person cannot be separated.
You can become a better songwriter without addressing the patterns that keep you stuck—but only up to a point. Likewise, you can gain personal clarity without knowing how to turn your ideas into finished songs or build a sustainable music career.
This Mentor Program brings those two worlds together.
Across five one-to-one sessions, we’ll combine systemic coaching with practical music mentoring. Together, we’ll explore both the inner and outer aspects of your creative life: your mindset, your relationships, your artistic identity, your songwriting, your creative process, and the practical realities of building a career in music.
Every program is tailored to your goals, but here’s an example of how the journey might unfold:
Session 1 – Understanding where you are
We begin by exploring your current situation, your aspirations, and the challenges you’re facing. Through a systemic coaching conversation, we’ll identify the questions that matter most and create a clear direction for the sessions ahead.
Session 2 – Developing your craft
We’ll focus on the practical side of your music. Depending on your needs, we might work on songwriting, lyric writing, arrangements, singing, creative blocks, or a specific project you’re developing. You’ll leave with practical tools you can immediately apply to your work.
Session 3 – Exploring what lies beneath
This session returns to the coaching process. Together, we’ll explore the deeper patterns influencing your creative life, relationships, confidence, decision-making, or career direction. Often, this is where new perspectives emerge and meaningful shifts begin to happen.
Session 4 – Integrating insight into practice
We’ll bring your new perspectives back into your music. Whether that’s refining songs, developing an artistic vision, planning a release, preparing for touring, or overcoming creative obstacles, we’ll focus on turning insight into action.
Session 5 – Looking ahead
Our final session brings everything together. We’ll reflect on what you’ve learned, celebrate the progress you’ve made, and create a realistic, coherent plan for the next six to twelve months so you leave with clarity, momentum, and a direction that feels genuinely your own.
Because every artist is different, no two Mentor Programs are the same. We’ll shape each session around your goals, your questions, and the support that will be most valuable to you.
Important:
I frame this as a 5-session mentor program, but essentially it’s a process that helps you transform from someone who is overwhelmed to focused, from someone with scattered ideas to a clear creative dirction, and from someone writing in isolation to building a sustainable artistic life.
